It’s official and more proof that Connecticut is far better than New York or New Jersey — Metro North edged out the Long Island Railroad last year as the busiest commuter rail line.

Metro-North had 82 million rides in 2011 while the Long Island line had 81 million. Metro-North predicts ridership will grow by 2 percent during the coming year.

According to the railroad, of the 209,020 trains that ran in 2011, almost 97 percent of them arrived on time.

Sounds like a successful business model!
    Let’s mess with it!

Here’s a few memorable highway projects.
    The Waterbury Construction 2000s
    The Hartford I-84 Rebuild 1990s
    The I-91 North Rebuild 1980s

I don’t think they ever shortened the commute. But they sure did lengthen the commute for at least 5 years in each case.
