Chris Murphy continues his photo-op campaign today when he will, according to the campaign, ”assist a home health care worker in getting her patient ready for the day.”

The real question for Murph is not whether he can change bed linens, but how he will justify accepting campaign help from a newly-created Super PAC, just the sort of entity he says loathes.

The new SuperPac, created by Murphy supporters worried about the fortune that Linda McMahon is willing to invest in her bid for the U.S. Senate (the NHR reports she’s dumped $9 million into the 2012 version of her campaign thus far, on top of the $50 million she spent in 2010).

But as the Susan Bysiewicz campaign was happy to remind us, Murphy has been pretty clear what he thinks of the U.S. Supreme Court decision that allows that secretive fundraising behind SuperPacs, calling it the “worst Supreme Court decision of my lifetime.” Like other candidates who benefit from the negative advertising that these super political action committees fund, Murphy says he can’t control what they do.

Did anyone really buy into that “Democrats loathe Super PACs and Contributions from non-profits and corporations” shtick?

It’s a good sign when the public sector unions and the dependent non-profit class are no longer the primary source of funding for Democrats. Reaching out to taxpayers will broaden their base :)
