The Hartford Parking Authority has a new web site that promises to put end to a favorite pastime: whining about parking in Hartford. I love that “park easy in Hartford” tab.

  1. Nick DeFrancesco says:

The only problems left they need to conquer are rudeness, high prices, not being able to move traffic out of a garage when they are crowded and a complete indifference to anything going on in the garage.

In addition,I am sure the busway to no where will help the parking situation out at least until Hartford declares bankruptcy.

Rick, the only “morons” are the ones who don’t realize just how cheap and easy it is to park in downtown Hartford. The Church Street Garage is a block away from Allyn Street, and the MAT Garage is a block away from Pratt Street. Both Church Street and MAT are two blocks from Asylum Street. Also, the nearly-always-empty Morgan Street Garage is a block away from Main Street (near City Steam and Dish).

If everyone in greater Hartford would realize that they do not have a God-given right to park immediately adjacent to their destinations, this would go a lot farther than a pretty website to making parking easy downtown.
