CT05 Democrat Randy Yale and Republican senate candidate Brian K. Hill emerge from the drenching rain over the weekend as more viable, if still outside, candidates for Congress.
Yale was “the only candidate of the four to distinguish himself” in a debate among the four Democrats for the open seat in Connecticut’s 5th District, according to the Torrington Register-Citizen. While you couldn’t say that Hill won the Republican debate on WFSB Sunday morning — one that the Mirror likened to a beer commercial – it was clear that Hill deserves to be on deck with frontrunners Linda McMahon and Chris Shays. Hill’s calm, mostly reasonable, demeanor stood out:
Nominating Linda or Chris is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. It doesn’t matter what order you put them in, the ship is going down.

Recent polls have indicated that dissatisfaction with Congress is at an all-time high. And for the first time since the question was asked, a majority of Americans believe that they are no longer represented by their elected officials.
