Chris Shays may be headed for defeat in three weeks, but he’s making sure to plant some land mines that will explode in the general election.
It may not matter to the Republican faithful that Shays believes that Linda McMahon cannot win the general election and he won’t vote for her if he loses. But Shays’ brutal, bitter dissection of Linda in the video clip from the New Haven Register below could go a long way to convince on-the-fence independent voters who to support on election day in November.
This is a warning from the grave that will haunt the McMahon campaign for months to come. Make no mistake, there are prominent Republicans who agree with every frustrated word Shays utters here.

Next up: Healy and the GOP dig up the fossilized remains of another decrepit old man to feed their nostalgia trip. When the fossil declares candidacy (Sept 2011) he has their fleeting love and then when he slips in the polls they abandon ship for the larger purse like moths to the flame.

There are plenty of reasons not to vote for McMahon. Shays isn’t one of them.
I think you’re a little presumptuous on Shays’ predetermined loss. This guy’s still in the race. His old 4th District loves him. They’ll come out in droves.
