The records might be interesting if the Recovery Act–was just as large..
    Instead–we fall back on POLLS..as being un-necessary.

    Happy Black History Month Rick!

Alas, another Black History Month…or as the left likes to view it, their annual “Opportunity To Exploit Race Month.” It is the month in which liberals attempt to convince us that race relations in America have progressed very little since the days of police unleashing dogs on civil rights activists.

Rather than presenting a balanced, honest look at black history, leftist schoolteachers and the media say America is still racist and whites should feel eternally guilty. Also included in the left’s message is that blacks must continue to vote monolithically for Democrats in order to keep rich white Republican racists at bay. Yes, for the most part, Black History Month is a propaganda tool of the Democratic party.

Black history is woven with remarkable blacks who strove for excellence and achieved major success. Knowledge of such black pioneers would inspire black youths and help them realize how blessed they are to be born in America, the greatest land of opportunity on the planet.

America is unique in that you can grow beyond your family history and humble beginnings. Most folks around the world are destined to walk in their parents’ footsteps. If your dad was a peasant worker, you will be a peasant worker.

In America, countless hugely successful blacks came from humble beginnings. This is why it so offends me to hear black politicians and the media constantly telling blacks that they are not functioning on an equal playing field. Such rhetoric inspires resentment, hopelessness, and a “why should I try” attitude in black youths. Consequently, 70% of black youths drop out of high school, and many enter a life of crime. These self-serving black politicians are selling their lie to black America solely for political reasons — to keep blacks voting for their supposed saviors and avengers, the Democrats.

Allow me to address this “equal playing field” trap. Folks, nothing in life is equal or totally fair. I am sorry, but some folks are born thin and beautiful. In some cases, they may have an advantage. But in regards to minorities not having opportunity, there is not enough racism in America today to stop anyone from achieving anything. To blacks who “want” to believe that America is systematically keeping them down, I say stop whining and making excuses, get up off your butt, and go for your dreams.

It drives me crazy hearing black and white liberal intellectuals discussing the problems in the black community without any references to blacks taking personal responsibility for their behavior/choices. Every solution offered by the left to deal with urban black issues revolves around more taxpayer spending and more failed government programs. And no discussion of problems in the black community would be complete without including the classic excuse, “it’s the white man’s fault.”

Now, I know that some blacks reading this article will respond like a black radio show host did while interviewing me: “Sounds like you don’t like your own people.” Wrong! I say these things because as a Christian, I love not just blacks, but all people. And I want what is best for them.

While some blacks may find comfort and think it racially loyal to keep blaming “whitey” for everything, black youths are going to h— in a hand-basket. Blacks have epidemic school dropouts and 70 percent out-of-wedlock births, and half of black babies are aborted via an organization founded on racism, Planned Parenthood. Blacks are actively involved in a self-induced genocide.

This is why I do not give a hoot about what black racists and self-serving poverty-pimp politicians think of me for suggesting that my fellow blacks assume responsibility for their own lives. Lives, after all, are at stake.

Ironically, liberals claim to want black empowerment. News flash: personal responsibility is black empowerment!

Here’s a little of my personal black history. Back in the ’70s when I was in my mid-twenties, I repented from my life of drugs, sex, and rock ‘n’ roll to become a born-again Christian. My desire to share the “good news” of my new relationship with Christ led me to prisons to minister to inmates. I was struck by the high number of gifted and talented blacks who were incarcerated solely because of their negative attitudes. Thank you, Democratic Party.

Black History Month should not just feature “how America done us wrong.” It should also celebrate the greatness of our extraordinary nation and how both blacks and whites sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears to make things right. Rather than Black History Month being exploited as a divisive tool for extortion, allow the truth of our history to bring people together.

  3. If the rumors are true — and despite “angry denials” by the White House, it’s finally public knowledge — then when hanging around the presidential living quarters, Michelle Obama does not wear ripped sweatpants and an old “Yes We Can” Obama 2008 T-shirt. Recently, we’ve come to find out that last year, while hubby was out preaching the gospel of fairness, wifey may have been busy acquiring a few “must-have” items from Hollywood-style British retail lingerie shop Agent Provocateur.

Ironically, a provocateur is someone who “provokes trouble, causes dissension or the like; an agitator.” Whether the fancy underwear story is true or not, either way, Mrs. Obama is indeed an agent provocateur. And, based on her continued dedication to extravagant self-indulgence, spending oodles of dollars on thongs doesn’t seem far-fetched.

Let’s remember: Michelle Obama pays absolutely no mind to public indignation over things like wearing a $2,000 sundress to church. Now we find out that the first lady may have filled a van with $600 corsets at a high-end Madison Avenue girdle shop.

Continued insensitivity toward the plight of struggling Americans certainly does “cause dissension,” and as the economic condition of most Americans continues to worsen, Mrs. Obama’s opulent lifestyle is certain to cultivate further hostility.

Whether she did or she didn’t, either way, Misunderstood Michelle shouldn’t worry about being disparaged for behaving like the voluptuary she is. If the going gets tough, the first lady can divert attention from her shopping in a store that sells “the most erotic lingerie in the world” by whining about things like being unjustly viewed as an “angry black woman,” or serving turkey tacos to schoolchildren with Rachael Ray.

When asked about his clients, Agent Provocateur’s chief executive Gary Hogarth refused to reveal whose names were on the “secret list.” However, he did admit that the brand had “attracted a high number of ‘unexpected famous names’ — especially in the US, where sales have overtaken the UK.” If U.S. sales have surpassed the U.K.’s, could it be because one very famous woman traded in bunny slippers for some size 11 Pom Pom Mules?

No one knows for sure what Agent Michelle the Provocateur hauled away in those pink and black shopping bags, or if she actually did shop there. But what we do know is that Mrs. Obama would have zero problem brazenly shutting down a street in New York City; she did it before for date night, and if in need of shopping therapy in a sexy skivvy shop, she’d likely do it again.

Despite White House denials, it could be that at one point Michelle did shop at the Madison Avenue boutique, and if she did, reports are that she allegedly rang up a $50K tab. Besides buying push-up bras, $50,000 could feed and house the family of at least one disenfranchised worker to whom Barack Obama promised a job but has yet to deliver, not to mention pay for a four-year college education for a disadvantaged child.

At the State of the Union address, the president rallied the nation by saying that America will “either [be] a country where a shrinking number of people do really well while a growing number of Americans barely get by, or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, and everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules.”

Then, less than a week after Obama spoke those moving words, the British press reported that Mrs. Obama, the woman who brightened up the SOTU address in a $2,000 shimmering peacock-blue Barbara Tfank dress, “[a]long with the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah,” played by her own rules, descended on “Madison Avenue, and spent some girlfriend time slapping big bucks on the counter of a lingerie shop.”

And what exactly would Mrs. Obama buy if she did actually shop there? Well…Agent Provocateur is kind of a ritzy Frederick’s of Hollywood. Agent Provocateur creative director Sarah Shotton said she draws inspiration from her “collection of vintage Playboy magazines that made her ‘want to re-introduce the sensuality and flirtation of the 70s into our campaigns.’”

Could be that Mrs. Obama isn’t a provocateur at all, and if she actually did go on a secret shopping trip, perhaps she simply wanted to introduce the “sensuality and flirtation of the 70s” into the White House. Her ultimate goal may have merely been to whip into playful submission a president who is turning out to be even worse than 1970s icon Jimmy Carter.

Nonetheless, reminiscent of “vintage Hollywood glamour,” Agent Provocateur also sells “handmade Calais lace corsets … for up to £900.” In U.S. currency, that comes out to be about $1,400, which, if Michelle actually bought one, could and should “ruffle the feathers of more than just President Obama in an election year.”

At $1,400 a pop, it’s not hard to see how the queen of Qatar and the queen of — sorry, the first lady of the United States in one day could have significantly “contributed to a market-spanking 12.5% lift in [Agent Provocateur] sales.”

According to Mr. Hogarth, “[t]his is a real luxury brand. The glamour of the Agent Provocateur brand is really powerful — it has a luxurious quality that means people have a sense of walking away with a special purchase even when they are buying a pair of knickers.” On this side of the pond, “knickers” are just underwear — a much-needed essential even for a provocative first lady. So, if the Agent Provocateur story turns out to be true, stocking up on underpants totally justifies Michelle Obama closing off Madison Avenue and frittering away $50K in an afternoon.

  4. MC Evans says:

Where was the public outcry for justice when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry bled to death at the hands of a drug cartel in cahoots with the U.S. government? It happened in the Peck Canyon corridor northwest of Nogales, Arizona — nowhere. The general public didn’t hear about it.

It’s been one year and two months since agent Terry died. Within weeks of his demise, his shocking murder would illuminate a bizarre and murderous government plot to run guns, lots of guns — over 2,000 guns — into the hands of the Sinaloa drug cartel.

Members of Sinaloa were behind 19,097 murders in Mexico between 2006 and 2010. But that didn’t stop the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the U.S. attorney’s office in Arizona from initiating a program in 2009 that would add at least 300 more dead bodies to that sobering pile of human remains south of the border.

Within 24 hours of Terry’s death, officials had traced two AK-47s to an ATF Phoenix-based operation dubbed Fast and Furious.

Soon bloggers at sites like cleanupatf, sipsey street irregulars, and Washington Examiner were joining forces to blow the lid off a mindless, deadly program that had collapsed into a destructive free-for-all. As ATF whistle-blowers like John Dodson came forward with reports of illegal gun-buying, untraceable weapons, threats of demotion by power-crazed superiors, and their futile efforts to stop the Fast and Furious madness until Terry’s death, mainstream editorial boards across the country failed to report the story.

Not since Lenin gathered his fellow Bolsheviks together in 1912 at the Prague conference to plan the publication of Pravda has there been such an all-out effort to quash facts that out in the open might bring down Attorney General Eric Holder and the whole Obama administration.

An amoral herd of left-wing journalists acting like “bootlicking propagandists,” as Orwell once called members of his own British press in 1944, might find it difficult in the long run to get away with suppressing a scandal involving mass murder. Orwell warned reporters, “Do remember that dishonesty and cowardice always have to be paid for. … Once a whore, always a whore.”

A pimped out press slavishly covering for corrupt leftist regimes while bringing down the opposition is nothing new. It happens openly every day in places like Cuba and Venezuela. But here in the land of the free press?

    Parsing the Spin

Last November, Dennis Wagner of The Arizona Republic wrote a chronological exposé of the Fast and Furious scandal. But he put a fancy spin on his article which illustrates perfectly how a Big Lie can emerge from a kernel of truth told with bad intent.

*The once-obscure case in Phoenix blew into a national controversy, putting a giant bull’s-eye on President Barack Obama and the Justice Department.

Wow. You see, it’s not about the real victims. Poor President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder must be protected from those gun-nuts (like Palin) marking maps with bulls-eyes everywhere.

*Cartels, which operate like quasi-military outfits, were well-armed before Fast and Furious. It is impossible to say whether the flow of guns into Mexico increased because of the gun-walking case or has diminished in the aftermath.

Here’s a reporter toeing the Party line. The message to non-elite readers from hoity-toity Wagner: what I’m saying is tantamount to nihilism, but you won’t get it; you’ll only think to yourself, yes, drug cartels are armed to the teeth — a few more weapons wouldn’t make a difference. Of course, now the reader is free to commit all kinds of atrocities because, heck, in our violent culture, someone will die anyway.

*Firearms were allowed into Mexico during two earlier operations, including a 2006-07 Tucson case known as Operation Wide Receiver. Those investigations were carried out quietly during the George W. Bush administration, without public controversy.

Translation: Bush and Gonzalez started it (falsification), so it is OK for Obama’s ATF to murder Mexican civilians and U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Wagner quotes the “experts” in the end. Harry L. Wilson, director of Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College, expounds on conspiracy theories and the idea that anyone who believes the government was “intentionally putting guns into Mexico as a ploy to regulate firearms in America … is just beyond paranoia.”

Translation: don’t think. You’re not up to the task. You’re mentally unstable anyway.

“Cover-ups often are worse than what you are trying to cover up,” states Wilson. I wonder if Zapata’s or Terry’s parents would agree.

Putting the Shoe on the Other Foot

In addition to slanting the truth, the gung-ho press has no problem doing unto others what they would not have done to them.

    Flashback.

2002 – Attorney General John Ashcroft and the forced covering of Lady Justice’s breasts in the DoJ’s Great Hall created such a stir in the leftist press that the story was news for weeks.

2007 – Ashcroft’s successor, Alberto Gonzalez, fared even worse; the media firestorm became so intense that he finally resigned for his part in the firing of eight U.S. attorneys general. A New York Times editorial depicted Gonzalez as a “consiglieri to Bush’s imperial presidency” and pummeled him for “abandoning his duties as guardian of election integrity and voting rights.”

Even Senator Obama, appearing on Larry King Live in the same year, called for Gonzalez’s resignation, accusing him of being a “president’s attorney,” not the “people’s attorney.” Obama told King that “part of the role of the attorney general is to say to the executive branch these are the limits of your power, here’s the things you can’t do.”

The audacious junior senator from Illinois chastised Gonzalez, indirectly, for carrying out “political vendettas” ordered by the White House. Obama described Bush’s AG as an “attorney general who saw himself as enabler of the administration as opposed to somebody who was actually trying to look out for the American people’s interest … for that reason I think it’s time for him to step down … and for another attorney general who can exercise some independence” to be appointed. King sat spellbound.

Then there’s John Mitchell, the only attorney general to go to prison on charges of obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and lying under oath. A Nixon loyalist ’til the end, Mitchell’s involvement in the Watergate break-in, which involved photographing documents, planting microphones, payouts, and an eventual cover-up, landed him lots of bad press and a 19-month stint in a minimum-security facility in Alabama.

Sans murders of innocent federal agents and civilians, the Washington Post played out the Watergate scandal until 25 defendants were charged with various crimes.

Too bad that agents Brian Terry, Jaime Zapata, and hundreds of Mexican civilians, with “more to come” according to Holder, didn’t die under a Republican administration. The wheels of justice grind down to a full stop when Democrats circle the wagons.

The Washington Post, The New York Times, the New York Daily News, the Chicago Tribune, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Reuters, the Associated Press, and countless others along with their political backers routinely characterize the Fast and Furious murders as part of “a botched ATF sting operation that went awry,” “an ill-conceived operation,” “a witch hunt,” “political fodder,” “deeply flawed,” “horrible screw-up,” “bad judgment,” and a “Republican red herring.”

Various big media outlets that ran 120 stories of Herman Cain’s alleged sexual dalliances from November 2 to November 15 didn’t see a need to enlighten the masses about Fast and Furious. The number of times “F and F” was mentioned in the same time span? One.

Are informed journalists who remain silent in the face of evil culpable for sins of omission? Are journalists who intentionally subvert truth and invert facts, allowing corrupt government officials to ride roughshod over the rule of law, complicit in the very crimes they’re covering up?

  5. Rick, where in The Hartford Pravda Courant are we going to see facts like this?

Today is the third anniversary of President Obama telling Matt Lauer on the Today show:

“I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. … A year from now, I think people are gonna see that we’re starting to make some progress, but there’s still gonna be some pain out there. If I don’t this done in THREE years, then there’s gonna be a one-term proposition.” (emphasis added)

So how are Obama’s policies working out? How have they harmed America? William Gensert summed up a lot of the wounds Obama has inflicted on America in yesterday’s American Thinker column, “Obama’s Dismal Job Performance.” Here is a chart that graphically illustrates the slide that Obama has pushed America down.

So Happy Anniversary, Mr. President! We know, because you told us so, that you never need an excuse to have a good party, though it would be understandable if you took a pass on having yet another lavish and luxurious party at taxpayer expense.

  6. Rick do you like facts? Can you handle this information? Did Obama come as advertised? As a liberal do you honestly care about Black unemployment…or do you just talk a good game at liberal whine and cheese parties? Don’t allow facts to get in the way of your liberalism.

    Obama’s Failure on Jobs:
President Obama may have a buddy-buddy relationship with big labor, but he’s no friend to ordinary workers. Here are four damning pieces of evidence.

    1. The unemployment rate remains above 9 percent according to the Labor Department data released on Friday.

This is about 2-1/2 percentage points higher than Obama promised if would be at this stage if we adopted the failed stimulus.

    This is a spectacular failure.

    2. Black unemployment has jumped to 16.7 percent.

I’ve already commented on how Obama has produced bad results for the African-American community, and the joblessness numbers are rather conclusive.

What makes that figure especially remarkable is that the black unemployment rate during the Obama years is more than 50 percent higher than it was during the Bush years.

    3. More than 40 percent of the unemployed have been out of work for more than six months.

These bad numbers almost certainly are caused, at least in part, by the unemployment insurance program – as even senior Democrat economists have acknowledged.

    4. Millions of people have dropped out of the labor force, dropping the employment-population ratio to the lowest level in decades.

Here’s the chart I posted last month. It hasn’t changed, and it’s perhaps the clearest evidence that Obama’s policies are crippling America’s long-run economic outlook.

All four of these charts are bad news. But the economy periodically hits a speed bump. The real problem is not bad numbers, but the fact that bad numbers have persisted for several years.

And the really bad news is that there is little reason to expect a turnaround given the current Administration’s affinity for bigger and more burdensome government.

  7. What’s the matter Rick cat got your tongue? You probably thought voting for Jimmy Carter was a good idea too. Do leftists ever grow up?

  8. Anderson Scooper says:

    Rick,

Are you in violation of copyright law when you allow to be posted on your blog long passages of what is obviously someone else’s work, — unattributed, and seemingly claimed by someone other than the true author?

fwiw. Me, I would not allow my pages to be desecrated in such a fashion.

    • Jimbo says:

@scooper: You would not let your pages be consecrated because these are rantings of the right. Rantings of the left, I am sure, would be perfectly acceptable in your world.

  9. SmGovGood says:

OMG, Obama Must GO! 2 full years of the Dems in full control…cash for clunkers sending our hard earned tax dollars to Japan and Korea – no Jobs for Americans, Housing stimulus that did not work, Dodd-Frank has cost the Financial industry hundreds of thousands of Jobs, Obama just killed 20,000 Pipeline Jobs.

Obama Care – What an expensive joke – tax to 10 years and benefits for 6 years so ObamaMath says it breaks even – LOL, and now BHO wants to take credit for the Shale Oil Jobs he opposed.

The Dems passed Tarp – Didn’t work, Obama created Shovel ready jobs – then laughed that there were NONE, a leader that can’t lead, has failed to create jobs, increased Debt 50% to $15.2 TRILLION.

All liberals seem to have short memories…..the man can spend! $5 TRILLION and were 50% more in debt then when he started….lets hope he changes and runs on his record! and not try to blame the congress that opposed his bad ideas for 1 year – he had his way for 2 years and cost the Taxpayers in the USA TRILLIONS!

    OMG – Obama Must GO
