Kids 17 and under, accompanied by a paying adult, get free daytime admission to Old Sturbridge Village on Friday, July 4. (Daytime events end at 5 p.m. There is an additional charge for the evening fireworks program.) Information: 800-733-1830 or www.osv.org.

The East Lyme Historical Society hosts its annual holiday weekend flea market Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Thomas Lee House Grounds, Route 156, just east of Rocky Neck State Park. Playhouse on Park, a theater company at 224 Park Road in West Hartford, has a lunchtime ticket special. Visit the box office between noon and 1 p.m. on the day of a performance to purchase $10 tickets for that evening’s show. (Sales are cash only.
