Kate Spade Goes Literary

Kate Spade has a new line of luxe literary accessories, “inspired by our love of beautful type, classic academia and all things bookish.” (With a wink of wit.)

That phrase in parens is Kate’s, not mine.

ScarfMerchandise is clever and chic, (this is Kate Spade, after all), but pricey – rancing from $35 for an iPhone case to $428 for the “Melita” jacket lined with a black-and-white logo glasses print that shows up on a number of items including the Literary Glasses scarf, $148, shown here.

The “The Portrait of a Lady” clutch, below, is pretty cute, but at $328, you could just carry an actual copy of the book  and get the same effect for a lot less.Kate Spade

Age of Innocence

Same with the “Age of Innocence” clutch, $325.

I think the book cover, with its crisp stripes, is actually, well, smarter.

Phone CaseThere are a few, more affordable things. I do love the Library Card iPhone case, $40
