Simsbury Spring MarketBargains will be blooming Saturday, June 7, at the annual spring market and tag sale at Simsbury Farms Recreation Complex, 100 Old Farms Road. The event, held rain or shine in the covered ice rink, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features vendors, crafters and residents selling old and new merchandise. Admission is $1. The New Hartford Lions Club will hold a giant flea market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Brodie Park, 580 W. Hill Road, New Hartford. For a $5 fee, early birds can shop from 6:30 to 8 a.m., after which admission will be $2. The event will feature antiques, arts and crafts and tag-sale items. Avery Heights Auxiliary, 705 New Britain Ave, Hartford, holds its semi-annual tag & treasure sale on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7. Merchandise includes jewelry, small appliances, books, crafts, furniture, clothing and more. (Enter through the Newington Road driveway and look for the maroon canopy). Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, when remaining merchandise is $5 a bag.

Lily Madison, an upscale women’s consignment shop and furniture gallery at 53 New Britain Ave., Rocky Hill, holds its annual tent sale of designer clothing, home décor and furniture on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7. Glastonbury holds its annual town-wide tag sale on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale takes place behind the Town Hall/Academy buildings on Main Street.

East Windsor’s neighborhood yard sale takes place on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of Boy Scout Hall, 11 Abbe Road, in East Windsor.

McDonald’s, 244 Prospect St., in Hartford, celebrates the FIFA World Cup games with a special soccer event on Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 100 people at the event get a free water bottle; the first 50 children at the event get a free kid-sized McDonald’s soccer ball and anyone wearing a soccer team jersey, hat or flag gets a free vanilla cone.The Second Chance Shop of Simsbury, 12 Station St., is having a 50 percent off sale on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
