How To Get Around The Amazon Prime Price Hike

by Categorized: Uncategorized Tagged: , , Date:

primeThe price of Amazon Prime is going up - from its current rate of $79 a year to $99 annually. Amazon Prime for Students, a program for college kids, is going up from $39 a year to $49.

(Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime for Students offer free two-day shipping and free streaming video.)

But there are ways to get around the price hike.

If you’re due to renew before April 17, you’ll pay the old rate of $79, or $39 for the student service.

New members who sign up by Wednesday, March 19, get the $79/$39 rate as well.

And SlickDeals.net offered a slick workaround to avoid the price increase by buying a gift membership for yourself that begins the day after your current membership ends. (You’ll have to buy the gift membership by March 19 as well.)
