The Connecticut Historical Society puts Katherine Hepburn back on the big screen with a free outdoor screening of “The Philadelphia Story” on the society’s grounds at 1 Elizabeth St. in Hartford at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14. As a prelude to the film, the Society’s exhibit, “Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen,” will be open to the public at no charge from 7 to 8 p.m. (In the event of rain, the movie will be shown indoors.) DIY Valentine’s Day Cards

valentineAdmission is free at the Connecticut Historical Society, One Elizabeth St. in Hartford, on
Saturday, and the day’s activities include a special family program. Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., children are invited to make their own Valentine’s Day cards, inspired by designs from long ago.
