ElizaB (2) Last call for tax free shopping. Connecticut’s Tax Free Week ends Saturday. Shop by then and you won’t pay sales tax on any individual clothing or footwear items priced less than $300.

The Eliza B Factory Store, 55 Plains Road in Essex, features deals on trendy sandals for women, leather goods and accessories, including headbands, watchbands and totes, along with men’s preppy leather goods, fashionable pet leashes and collars, fabrics, ribbons and trims. Connecticut begins its annual tax-free week Sunday, which means that for the next seven days shoppers will save the 6.35 percent sales tax on most clothing and shoe purchases priced under $300. And though many retail promotions are linked to back-to-school, shoppers can save on adult clothing and footwear – and on a number of other items, like cloth and disposable baby diapers, square dancing clothes and scout uniforms.
