Free Family Skate At XL Center

Celebrate the 2014 Winter Olympic games here in Hartford with a free family
skate at the XL Center on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. During the event,
sponsored by Comcast, Global Spectrum and NBC Connecticut, the Olympic games
will be aired on the jumbo-tron in the venue and attendees can meet and skate
with Special Olympic athletes. Bring your own skates. (A limited number of skates will be available for use.) There will be discounted parking, ($6), in the Church Street Garage from 4 to 7 p.m. Get information here.

Free Summer Reading Fun Fair At Hartford Public Library

Hartford Public Library holds a Summer Reading Kickoff and Fun Fair at the
downtown library on Main St. from noon until 4 p.m. The free family celebration
features bounce houses, an obstacle course, airbrush tattoos, crafts, snacks,
music and a dinosaur museum and show. The outdoor fair takes place on the

Holiday Light Fantasia Discount

Heading to Holiday Light Fantasia in Hartford’s Goodwin Park? Be sure to visit www.Hartford.com before you go. Admission to the two-mile, illuminated drive-through display with 35 scenes and 200 individual displays is $12 per car, but the website features a $2 off coupon. The display is open through Sunday, January 6th, 2013. Hours are Sunday though Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.

Hodge Podge Market & Street Fair in Hartford

Hartford HodgePodge, a new open-air market and street fair on Pratt St. in Hartford, features food trucks, music, entertainment, and shopping. Each week, the market showcases different vendors and themes and free interactive art projects for children and adults. On-street parking is free on Sundays, (with some restrictions).
