At least one person was killed and three others injured Saturday afternoon when the stage collapsed before a Radiohead concert at Downsview Park in Toronto, the CBC reports.
According to reports from the Toronto Police twitter account, a man in his 30′s was pronounced dead at the scene. A 45 year old man was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening head injury, and two other men were injured, but refused treatment.
The collapse reportedly happened around 4 p.m., several hours before Radiohead was slated to take the stage. The concert was taking place on the 15th anniversary of the band’s groundbreaking album OK Computer. Caribou was set to open the show.
A short time after the collapse, both the band and the Toronto Police tweeted that the concert was cancelled.
Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s at downsview park tonight has been cancelled. Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue.

The cause of the collapse was not immediately known.
In the last year there have been several high profile stage collapses. Last August, five people were killed at the Pukkelpop Festival in Hasselt, Belgium. A collapse at the Indiana State Fair the week before killed 7.
The Flaming Lips, who were also performing Saturday in Toronto, also saw their stage collapse last summer. Frontman Wayne Coyne expressed condolences with the victims of the Radiohead stage collapse, as well as a video from a witness talking about what he saw.

Those incidents saw a huge focus on safety concerns at outdoor concerts, particularly in the cases of inclement weather. With Mountain Park in Northampton one of the only venues to host large, temporary outdoor stages, Eric Suher of the Iron Horse Entertainment Group addressed those safety concerns by saying he wouldn’t hesitate to evacuate an outdoor venue in case of foul weather.
