Jennifer Lopez being treated like a queen during her performance at Mohegan Sun in October 2011. (Nick Caito)

This is a big week for Jennifer Lopez, and of course there’s a Connecticut connection in there.

First and foremost, she plays at Mohegan Sun this Thursday with Enrique Iglesias. The last time she was in Connecticut was this past October, performing as part of Mohegan’s 15th Anniversary.

That concert received a lot of attention, as it was her first since splitting with husband Marc Anthony (who, ironically, performed there the month prior. This time he’s playing Mohegan month after). There were plenty of reports that Lopez “broke down” on stage, which was certainly an exaggeration.

This time around Lopez has been in the news for stepping down as an American Idol judge and being replaced with Mariah Carey (or did Carey replace Steven Tyler? It’s so hard to tell…), as well as Tuesday’s release of her greatest hits album, “Dance Again … The Hits.”

Hartford's Natash Ramos has numerous pop hits to her credit, including J-Lo's "Jenny From The Block." (Handout Photo)

Included on the album is, of course, the Bennifer-era hit “Jenny From The Block.” What some Nutmeggers may not know is that the song prominently features Hartford native Natasha Ramos on backing vocals. Ramos, who is now an independent recording artist, performed on several tracksof “This Is Me…. Then.”

Ramos came out with the EP “Dream Seller” last year (click here to listen on Spotify).

Oh. And today is J-Lo’s 43rd birthday. So bring cake to Mohegan if you’re going.
