Connecticut’s Avery Wilson, 16, Wows Judges On “The Voice”
Connecticut totally has it in the bag when it comes to NBC’s “The Voice.”
Sixteen year old Avery Wilson completely wowed the judges Monday night with a rendition of David Guetta’s “Without You.”
“I think we’re all a bit floored by what you’re doing… Damn, I’m astonished.” said Adam Levine, the first of the four judges to hit their ‘button,’ signaling they wanted the singer for their team.
According to his ReverbNation page, Wilson is a New Haven native living in Hamden, and has been singing since age 8. He told judge Christina Aguilera that he has not taken singing lessons.
“I’ve gotta have you. You need to pick me. ” said Levine.
“Regardless of who you pick, you deserve to be on this show, you deserve to be a success, you deserve to be a star,” said Cee Lo Green.
After hearing pitches from all four judges, Wilson decided to go with Green.
West Hartford’s Javier Colon won the first season of the show, and it seems that now Connecticut may have a shoe-in for this season.
“That probably was the most spirited reaction we’ve heard throughout this entire process.” Levine said.
Twitter immediately blew up with reactions, including user @Rolandoe_G4 (a user who appears to be a high schooler that hates doing homework) saying “Avery wilson is probably the second best thing that happened to connecticut ever since pizza”
