New Haven’s Estrogen Highs are banging out a couple local shows before taking off on a two week tour of the midwest and south.

The quartet released “Irrelevant Future” earlier this year, an LP with twelve tracks of punky lo-fi garage pop. This will be the “official” tour for the album, though they’re familiar with hitting the road for weeks at a time.

“We’ll collectively be looking forward to a Pittsburgh Pirates game, seeing all our homies, getting ‘real’ with each other, playing WFMU, watching [bandmate] Mark eat tons of cheeseburgers, making our roadie’s life a living hell, not eating any good pizza, and making friends with people’s cool pets.” says drummer Ross Menze.

This Friday has them playing at the monthly “Final Friday” at New England Brewing Company, which in and of itself is a great event. For $5, guests see a rock band and get to sample some fantastic local brews. Bring a growler.

Music starts at 6pm, and the brewery is located at 7 Selden Street, Woodbridge (just over the New Haven town line).
