Nickelodeon is doing a good (or insidious) job of launching bands. First there was Big Time Rush, now there’s the Fresh Beat Band, stars of the TV show aimed at preschoolers, which comes to Mohegan Sun Sept. 21. Tickets go on sale April 13 at 10 a.m. for $34.50 via www.ticketmaster.com.

Jason Mraz clambers on to the big stage Aug. 25 at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, with opener Christina Perri. Tickets go on sale April 13 at 10 a.m.; prices haven’t been announced. It’s festival season! This year’s Gathering of the Vibes, happening July 19-22 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, features headliners Primus, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & Bruce Hornsby with Branford Marsalis, Mickey Hart Band, Sound Tribe Sector 9 and the Avett Brothers. Arlo Guthrie and the Guthrie Family Reunion are the star attraction at this year’s Green River Festival, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Woody Guthrie’s birth July 14-15 on the campus of Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, Mass.
