Though the weather lately would have you believe otherwise, it actually is summer. That means it is time for New London’s Hygienic Art Park to start up their outdoor summer programing.
It starts this Saturday, June 15, with Boston’s Jesse Dee making his only scheduled Connecticut performance this summer. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., with Dee playing two sets broken up by DJ Sir Round Sound spinning funk sounds. There’s a $10 suggested donation (the park is a non profit, after all).
Next weekend, June 22, is the park’s annual Traditions Festival to celebrate Americana and roots music. That show goes 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a real solid lineup of Pesky Nixon, Paper Hill Casket Company, Oh Cassius, Goodnight Blue Moon, Tim Eriksen, Anais Mitchell, and O’Death.
The Hygienic Art Park is next to the Hygienic Art Galleries, at 79 Bank Street, New London. The park features regular outdoor music shows in addition to art installations and film showings (The Goonies on July 3!). Click here for a full schedule of events at the park.
