Guitarist/singer Warren Haynes hits the road this spring with the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration, which reaches five cities in the Midwest and Northeast during the month of May.

Haynes will be joined by a 43-member orchestra on arrangements of Grateful Dead material, much of which was penned by Garcia and lyricist Robert Hunter. The tour arrives at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Jeff Sipe, formerly of Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit (he went by the handle Apt. Q258) and Phil Lesh and Friends, joins Haynes on the drums; Lincoln Schleifer plays bass. Keeping with the spirit of the music, Haynes promises to vary the set-list from night to night.

Tickets ($35-$75) go on sale on Friday, March 21 at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com or oakdale.com. The full tour schedule is available on Haynes’ website. Here’s a clip of what the show looked like last year:
