Congratulations go out to Hartford area rock / rapper Joey Batts, aka Joe Battaglia aka “Mr. B.”

Battaglia was named a finalist for Hartford’s 2013 Teacher Of The Year for his work at Opportunity High School, where he uses music like Tupac to reach kids that others may have given up on. Click here to read the full write up from the Courant’s Vanessa De La Torre.
