Horizon Music Group, home to the nationally distributed Elm City Music record label in West Haven, has started opening their studios every Sunday night to hip hop artists from the Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport areas.
The goal, according to Vic Steffens and Michael Caplan of Elm City Music, is to bring in local artists to work together and learn from each other. The studio will lay down a beat, just bring your skills and love for the craft.
Horizon started opening its doors about a month ago, and Elm City Music hopes to put out the occasional mixtape from material recorded in studio, Caplan said.
The studio opens at 6pm. They are located at 678 1/2 Campbell Ave, West Haven.
