Frampton fans are facing a disappointment, as his show next week at the Simsbury Meadows has been canceled.

A short press release from The Bushnell credited “unforeseen circumstances” with the Aug. 7 cancelation. According to the artist’s website, other dates on Frampton’s tour are going on as planned.

Anthony Rhodes of Premier Concerts, who were co-promoters along with The Bushnell, said they did not yet have a detailed reason why the concert was canceled, but hoped to have more definitive information from the Frampton camp soon.

“We’re obviously disappointed,” Rhodes said. When asked whether the show would be rescheduled if possible, he responded “It doesn’t look like it for this summer, but we would enthusiastically book him indoors at The Bushnell or The Palace or wherever in a heartbeat, if given an opportunity.”

Refunds are available at their points of purchase, being given automatically through Ticketmaster or through the Bushnell box office at 860-987-5900.

falls off stage & splits pants @ Colt Park 1976, cancels Simsbury 2013 … what is it with this guy & central CT?

I would bet that this was strictly a business decision based on low concert attendance for the Emmylou Harris concert.

I saw him at Foxwoods probably 5 or 6 years ago. I’d never listened to his music before but had heard of him. It was a surprisingly good show – one of my favorites. If you have a chance to go see him definitely do.

He’s cancelled a number of shows this year if you look at his tour schedule. Besides, he’s basically playing the same sets every night with a different guest guitarist sitting in for three or so songs. Nothing too exciting about that.

how many seats does this place simsbury hold? i bet ticket sales are the reason. he probably wants to alwayslook like he is a bg draw and doesnt want to be seen playing to a half empty venue

Im not sure what role the Bushnell plays in this but they seem to have to cancel a lot of their shows…perhaps its more of a Bushnell issue. Ive been disappointed with the offerings at the Bushnell, unless you like MythBusters, Cooking Shows, or “Psychics” they dont really offer much any longer. I am excited about Infinity Hall opening at Front Street, the Bushnell will then only offer “Broadway”, mostly non-equity shows at that! SAD

He may play some of the HITS, which we would be SO disappointed if he didn’t,,, I’ve seen 2 shows this tour and they are AMAZING!! Guest artists add to the show and are a treat. He is always a great player, artist.. & the joy he and the band experience is infectious! Hopefully will reschedule.
