New Haven Police announced Wednesday that they arrested the alleged killer of Mitchell Dubey, a fixture in the New Haven punk scene.

Dubey was shot and killed March 24, 2011 during a home invasion and attempted robbery.

Police arrested Tyshaun Fair, 19, of New Haven, Tuesday night. He was charged with home invasion and felony murder. Click here to read more about the story.

Dubey’s death shook the local music community and prompted an outpouring of support for his family and friends. A benefit show at Toad’s Place featured bands My Heart To Joy, Call It Arson, and Dubey’s band The Flaming Tsunamis. More than $23,000 was raised by that performance. According to The New Haven Independent, Fair was a suspect from early on, but a break in the case over the weekend gave police enough evidence to make an arrest.
