The surviving members of Queen are going out on tour this summer with 2008 “American Idol” runner-up/all-around incredible singer Adam Lambert in the Freddie Mercury role. Great idea (MUCH better than a hologram Freddie, anyway).
Billed as “Queen + Adam Lambert,” the tour gets underway at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday, June 19 and wraps on July 20 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in D.C. (full dates below). They’ll stop at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Saturday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets ($79.50-$99.50) go on sale next Friday, March 14 through livenation.com.
Queen and Lambert performed together on the set of “American Idol” in May 2009 (yeah, it’s pretty good), then went on to do the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last year (clip below).
