Space Station Commander Shoots “Space Oddity” Video In Space

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

When floating in a tin can, high above the earth, what else is there to do? I mean, other than science experiments and the usual astronaut stuff.

Col. Chris Hadfield, commander of the International Space Station and a David Bowie fan (at least one would assume), stars in the music video. He’s also the first Canadian commander of the ISS.

According to the CBC, Col. Hadfield has generated more than 22 million youtube hits from his various videos. His twitter feed and Facebook page are also filled with incredible shots of the earth from space.

The CBC reports Hadfield will be on his way back to earth tonight on a Russian Soyuz space capsule. Sadly that means there probably isn’t enough time for a video to Spiritualized’s “Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space.”
