Upcoming Concerts: DMB, Wallflowers, Moving Mountains
Dave Matthews Band is returning to Connecticut on December 8.
This being a winter concert, the band is forgoing their usual venue of Hartford’s Comcast Theatre in favor of the Mohegan Sun Arena. Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct 19 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $70 and $80.
Down the street at MGM Grand at Foxwoods, John Legend fans will need to wait a little longer before seeing him. The tour was postponed until 2013 while Legend finishes work on a new album. There is no word yet on a rescheduled date of his Oct 26 Mashantucket concert. Refunds are available.
The Wallflowers will be playing Northampton’s Calvin Theatre on Nov 9 with tickets costing $28.50 and $38.50. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall will be at Pearl Street on Dec 19, for $20.02 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets to both concerts go on sale Friday, and are available through iheg.com.
Corrosion Of Conformity is still around, and play the El N’ Gee in New London on Nov 10. Tickets are $20 at the door, or $18 in advance. They can be bought at CoCElnGee.Eventbrite.com.
NRBQ, referred to by some as the “world’s greatest bar band,” are making two Connecticut stops in the coming months. First they play Toad’s Place Nov 24. Tickets are on sale now for $15 at toadsplace.com, or $20 at the door. NRBQ returns on Jan 19 to play Infinity Hall. That show goes on sale Thursday, Oct 4, for $35 and $50 at infinityhall.com.
Blue Oyster Cult will be at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, Feb 3. Tickets are $70, and on sale now at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
Melanie Safka, who got her big break back at Woodstock, comes to Infinity Hall Nov 1. That concert goes for $30 and $40. Renowned guitarist José Feliciano is at Infinity Hall Dec 15, for $70 and $90. Both concerts go on sale Thursday, Oct 4, at infinityhall.com.
Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit are coming to Arch Street Tavern on Dec 8. Tickets are $20 in advance at manicproductions.org, or $25 at the door.

At The Space in Hamden, Moving Mountains play with O’Brother and Caspian for the Triple Crown Records tour on Saturday, Dec 8. Tickets are $13. Mirah is playing The Space on Nov 11 for $12. Both shows go on sale Friday at noon through manicproductions.org.
The Screaming Females show at The Space Nov 7 has been canceled. Refunds are available at their point of purchase.
Coming Up This Week:
There are quite a few good shows on Saturday- Morrissey will be at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Regina Spektor plays a sold out concert at the Jorgensen in Storrs, and John Hiatt and The Combo are at Northampton’s Calvin Theatre. Heart also play MGM Grand.
Anthrax will bring the roof down at the Webster Theatre Thursday night, while Rush will do the same to the Webster Bank Arena next Wednesday night, Oct 10.
