Upcoming Concerts: George Strait Farewell Tour, Khalifa Reschedules

Country icon George Strait is embarking on a two year farewell tour next year, and plans to make a stop at Hartford’s XL Center February 23.
Martina McBride will be his partner in crime for this leg of the tour, which goes on sale Oct. 12. Tickets start at $69.50, and can be found at georgestrait.com.
Rap star Wiz Khalifa has pushed back the first six stops of his latest tour, including this weekend’s concert at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. The late announcement was made to give the venues more time for ticket sales. Bridgeport’s new date is Dec 10. Previously purchased tickets will be honored, or can be refunded at their point of purchase.

The Local H show at Hartford’s Arch Street Tavern on Oct 16 has also been canceled. Tickets will be refunded from their point of purchase.
Cyndi Lauper will be playing a New Year’s Eve concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Tickets to the pop star’s concert go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through TicketMaster for $30.
New Riders of the Purple Sage are gearing up to play two area shows. The first stop is at the Iron Horse Music Hall on Thursday, Dec 27. Tickets are $22.50 in advance, and available at iheg.com. Their second stop is at Infinity Hall on March 15. That show is on sale Oct 11 at infinityhall.com, and tickets go for $35 and $50.
Electronic duo Break Science are at the Pearl Street Clubroom on Nov 27. Tickets go on sale Friday at iheg.com for $16, or at the door for $20.
The Babies, a side project / child from members of Vivian Girls and Woods, are playing the weekly free show at BAR on Wednesday, Nov 14.
White Rabbits will be at The Space in Hamden on Friday, Nov 30. Tickets are on sale Friday for $15 at manicproductions.org.
Coming Up This Week:
The Great Hall at Union Station in downtown Hartford opens their doors Friday night to a big show with Buckcherry, Lit, and Saving Abel.
Waka Flocka Flame will be tearing up Toad’s Place on Thursday night. Reema Major and Wooh Da Kid open up. Tickets are still available, for $30.
GWAR will be at Toad’s Monday night, Oct 15. Make sure to wear a rain coat, or get soaked with all the fake blood that comes along with the show.
Mates Of State play a free concert at the Wolf Den Friday night, while Peter Gabriel is at the Arena the following night.
LeAnn Rimes, who has seen headlines recently for everything from rehab to infections to marriage troubles, plays MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Friday.
