Upcoming Concerts: Keith Urban, Mayhem Festival, Old School Hip Hop Jam

One of the biggest names in rock history will be coming to the Mohegan Sun Arena on July 18.

The Eagles announced 11 dates on a national tour to support “The History of the Eagles” documentary, and one of them is at the Uncasville casino. Tickets are on sale Thursday, March 28, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $125 and $195.

John Mayer is embarking on his first tour in three years, and the Connecticut native is playing at Hartford’s Comcast Theatre. His show on August 16 goes on sale this Friday morning at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Seats are $75 and lawn tickets cost $36. American Idol winner Phillip Phillips opens.

Speaking of American Idol, judge Keith Urban is coming to town for two dates this fall, November 15 and 16, at Mohegan Sun. Tickets are on sale next Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $65 and $85.

George Thorogood and Buddy Guy play a show at the MGM Grand on August 10. Tickets to the concert are $45, and on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at foxwoods.com.

Shinedown is at the Mohegan Sun arena on May 3, alongside alt rockers Bush and Airbourne. Tickets are on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. for $35 through Ticketmaster. On sale at the same time is the arena’s stop on the “Masters of Madness” tour featuring metal monsters Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. Tickets for the June 21 concert cost $35.

Both Cooper and Manson have toured in recent years with Rob Zombie, who happens to be returning to the area this summer to headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. The July 21 stop at the Comcast Theatre also features Five Finger Death Punch and Mastadon on the bill, plus dozens more can be expected to fill out the four stage fest. Tickets range from $20.50 to $63.50, and are on sale now at ticketmaster.com.

MGM Grand at Foxwoods is hosting an “Old School Hip Hop Jam” on June 14. The lineup features DMX, Naughty By Nature, Rakim, Biz Markie, and more. Tickets are on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for $55 and $75 at foxwoods.com.

The Space in Hamden has Titus Andronicus performing on April 28. The Slackers will pump out ska jams at Spaceland Ballroom on May 24. Both of those shows go for $15, and are on sale Friday at noon through manicproductions.org.

Infinity Hall has Toots and the Maytals on June 1 for $50 and $70, Marcia Ball on June 9 for $35 and $50, and Big Al Anderson on June 29 for $60 and $80. Those shows are on sale Friday at infinityhall.com.

The Iron Horse in Northampton has The Staves performing May 21 for $12.50, with tickets on sale Friday. Andy McKee and Guitaro5000 are there June 21 for $25 in advance ($30 at the door). We’re just getting over the cold, but if you’re thinking of next winter, Dar Williams plays two shows December 20 and 21 for $30. Tickets to those shows are available at iheg.com.

Leonard Cohen will be playing the Toyota Oakdale Theatre on Tuesday. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster, starting at $49.50

Thursday has hardcore group Bane at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, rapper Joe Budden at Toad’s Place, and Ports of Spain at Cafe Nine.

Zammuto and Valgeir SigurĂ°sson are at the Spaceland Ballroom on Friday. Queensryche play a free show at the Wolf Den on Saturday.
