Summer is heating up in Hartford, as tickets to Hot Jam go on sale this Friday.

Hip hop artists Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole headline the growing lineup of the 93.7 FM sponsored event at the XL Center on May 31. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, with prices from $45 to $125.

Queen of soul Aretha Franklin will be performing at the MGM Grand Theatre on May 26. Tickets go for $40-$65, and are on sale now at foxwoods.com

Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley’s concert at the Comcast Theatre, also part of the Country Megaticket, goes on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Tickets to the August 3 concert are $54.50 in the pavilion, and $29.75 for the lawn.

Kid Rock announced a new tour with Uncle Kracker that puts tickets in an affordable place. All seats to his July 12 Comcast Theatre concert will be sold at $20. Various fan club and corporate presages are available, but the general public has access next Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.

Fall Out Boy has made a return to the scene with a new album and a tour that’s coming to Mohegan Sun Sept. 5. Tickets are $39, and on sale now through Ticketmaster.

Toad’s Place goes all gold everything with rapper Trinidad James on April 24. But here’s the thing: no advance tickets will be sold. Buy them at the door for $35.

Say Anything is at Toads June 19 with Eisley and HRVRD. Tickets are on sale April 11 at noon for $17.50 at toadsplace.com.

The Center Church on the Green in New Haven is as weird a place as any to see bands called The Mountain Goats and The Baptist Generals, but the lo-fi quirky folk rockers are there on June 7. Tickets are $20 and on sale at noon through manicproductions.org.

Night Beds will be at Cafe Nine on June 27, and at the Iron Horse the following day. Tickets to either at $10. Mark Mulcahy plays the Spaceland Ballroom July 12 before the Iron Horse on July 13. Both those shows are $12. Tickets are available at manicproductions.org and iheg.com respectively.

City and Colour performs at the Calvin Theatre on Sept. 13. Tickets are $30 and $35, and on sale Friday at iheg.com.

Boz Scaggs is at the Warner Theatre in Torrington July 5, with tickets from $42-$75 on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through warnertheatre.org.

Harry Connick Jr. is at the Simsbury Meadows on June 22. Tickets are $38-$110, and on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com.

Serbian blues phenom Ana Popivic is at Hungry Tiger in Manchester Sunday night. Tickets are $20.

A must-see for indie kids is The Appleseed Cast at The Space on Thursday night. HRVRD plays the Hamden venue on Tuesday.

Saturday night has Natalie Cole at MGM Grand, and Muse at Mohegan. Los Lobos are at Infinity Hall on Sunday.
