Latin-pop star/cultural icon Jennifer Lopez ($195-$325) heads to Foxwoods in Mashantucket for a one-off show on June 21 at 8 p.m. in the Grand Theater. The American Idol Live 2014 Tour ($40-$65), featuring this season’s top 10 finalists, heads to Foxwoods on July 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets for both shows go on sale starting Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. through foxwoods.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.

Popular ’80s R&B ensemble New Edition visits Foxwoods on Saturday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets ($30-$59) are on sale now.

Fresh off a successful run of shows on their 2014 Mechanical Bull Tour, southern rockers Kings of Leon recently announced a third set of performances, including one at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. The concert will be the second Connecticut appearance for Kings of Leon on the tour, after a February performance at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. Tickets (starting at $28.50 for a lawn seat) go on sale this Friday, April 25 at 10 a.m. through livenation.com. South African alt-rock quartet Kongos opens.

Grammy-nominated DJ Avicii heads to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Friday, June 27 at 9 p.m. Tickets ($59-$99) go on sale this Friday, April 25 at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com. Canadian crooner Michael Bublé performs at Mohegan on Thursday, July 10; no word yet on ticket sales.

Classic rocker Peter Frampton ($29-$79) plugs in at Ives Concert Park in Danbury on Saturday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale starting on Friday, April 25 at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com.

Brooklyn electronic duo Great Good Fine OK ($10) heads to the Space in Hamden on Tuesday, May 20 at 8:30 p.m. Alt-popsters Wakey!Wakey! ($12) visit the Space on Thursday, June 12 at 8 p.m. Multi-talented indie rocker Andrew Bird and the Hands of Glory ($35-$40) play the Klein in Bridgeport on Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. Singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler ($12) plays the Ballroom at the Outer Space on Sunday, July 20 at 8:30 p.m., followed by Puss N’ Boots ($25), featuring Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper, on Tuesday, July 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets for all five shows go on sale this Friday, April 25 at noon through manicproductions.org.

Arch Street Tavern in Hartford hosts the first annual Willie Nelson Birthday Bash on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m., featuring Connecticut musicians the Backyard Committee, Elison Jackson, Them Damn Hamiltons, Lys Guillorn Band, the And Band, Frank Critelli, Hannah Fair, Andy Wakeman and Krizta Moon. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Connecticut chapter of the Northeast Organic Farmers Association, and one lucky fan will win a ticket to the June 15 Willie Nelson/Alison Krauss show at Simsbury Meadows. World/funk act Red Baraat ($25-$35) plays at Infinity Hall in Norfolk on Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m. Blues virtuoso Curtis Salgado ($25-$40) hits Infinity on Sunday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. 1970s smooth rockers Ambrosia ($40-$55) bring the biggest part of themselves to Norfolk on Friday, June 27 at 8 p.m., followed by Cajun legends Buckwheat Zydeco ($40-$55) on Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m. Tickets to all Infinity shows go on sale this Thursday, April 24 at infinityhall.com or by calling 866-666-6306.

Mystic Shipyard hosts the second annual Mystic Blues Festival, which takes place from Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29. Headliners include the Spin Doctors, Johnny Winter and James Cotton. Tickets are $78/day or $207 for a weekend pass. Head to mysticbluesfestival.com for more information.
