Former Wesleyan University indie rockers MGMT ($25) play the Dome at Oakdale in Wallingford on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. General admission tickets go on sale this Friday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. Kuroma, who shares guitarist Hank Sullivant with MGMT, opens.

If you watched the Kings of Leon documentary “Talihina Sky’’ a couple of years ago, you’re well aware that the Followills — singer/guitarist Caleb, drummer Nathan and bassist Jared, all brothers, and their cousin, guitarist Matthew — didn’t have the easiest childhoods in rural Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Thankfully, that’s all in the past. The quartet persevered through their music, and have since grown into one of the nation’s biggest arena-rock bands. KOL appears at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. behind “Mechanical Bull’’, their latest album. Gary Clark Jr. opens. Country superstar Luke Bryan ($79.50, $99.50) hits Mohegan Sun Arena on Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m., as he rolls cross-country on his “That’s My Kind of Night Tour’’, dropping well-known hits and newer stuff from his fourth studio album (and most recent chart-topper), “Crash My Party.’’ Tickets go on sale this Friday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.
