Neil Young and Crazy Horse hit the road for the first time in eight years, and will stop at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport Dec. 4. Godmother of punk Patti Smith joins the bill. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 8, through Live Nation from $57.50 to $162.50.

Tickets for Chicago and The Doobie Brothers at the Comcast Theatre Aug. 26 go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through LiveNation.com.

Steve Miller Band and George Thorogood drink together at MGM Grand on Aug. 3. Tickets range from $45 to $65 and are available at foxwoods.com.

Hartford’s Union Station opens up its Great Hall for another concert with AWOLNATION slated to play Tuesday, Sept. 11. Tickets are $15-$17, and go on sale through Ticketfly and Ticketmaster Friday at 10 a.m.

Shaggy, who still denies being on the counter, sofa, shower, etc, will play at the huge LAZ Parking lot at 410 Market Street in Hartford June 17 for Father’s Day. Tickets are $35 in advance, and available at www.actionaudiostore.com.

Down New Haven’s way there’s a bit of news out of Toad’s Place, with some schedule rejiggering, a cancelation, and a world record attempt.

Melvins Lite, the smaller but still sludgey incarnation of the original gangsters of stoner metal, are on a mission for a Guiness World Record. They want to play in all 50 states, plus Washington, DC, in 51 days. Their Connecticut stop hits the Elm City venue Oct. 3. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 8 for $15.

Family Force 5 shifted from their original Aug. 4 date at Toad’s to make way for the Wu Block tour, featuring Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch. The 5 will now play Monday, Aug. 6. Tickets to Wu Block are $25 advance, $28 at the door, and on sale right now.

Grace Potter And The Nocturnals had to cancel their Aug. 9 appeareance at Toad’s Place because of a scheduling conflict. Tickets were not on sale yet, and the venue says they’re hoping to reschedule for another date in the fall.

Toad’s also hosts a Battle For Mayhem Fest competition for a spot on the Mayhem Fest Aug. 5 in Hartford. Tickets to the competition are $12, but if you’re looking to enter you need to email hollis@toadsplace.com.

In Northampton, Duke Robilard plays the Iron Horse on Saturday, June 9, and mewithoutyou are at Pearl Street Wednesday, June 13. Tickets are $14.
