It’s been a big year for the Pixies. The group announced the departure of founding member Kim Deal, followed shortly by the release of their first new material in two decades. Now the Northampton-based group has announced a slew of North American concert dates, following up on a European tour.

Pixies will kick it at the Shubert Theater in New Haven on Jan. 22. Tickets are $55 and $65, and go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Fidlar provide opening support.

Imagine Dragons are headlining the Mohegan Sun Arena on March 1, though electro-rock openers The Naked & Famous are more than equally worth the price of admission. Tickets go for $49.50, and are on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

This year Mohegan Sun has poached Kenny Rogers’s annual holiday tour from the casino down the street. He plays his Christmas hits on Friday, Dec. 6 for $35 a ticket. That show is also on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Rosanne Cash is coming to the Nutmeg State along with John Leventhal. The two play the Stafford Springs Palace Theatre on Dec. 13. Tickets come in multiple price levels, from $45 to $100, and are on sale now at thestaffordpalacetheater.com.

Connecticut rapper Chris Webby plays a show at Toad’s Place on Nov. 28. Tickets are $22 at toadsplace.com, but purchase a ticket before Oct. 15 and get two dollars off.

The Iron Horse in Northampton has Air Traffic Controller and Darlingside on Dec. 7. Tickets are $10. Frank Manzi plays there on Nov. 2 for $12.50, and Hot Tuna jam out on Jan. 2, with tickets at $50. Those shows are all on sale at iheg.com.

You Won’t are at The Outer Space on Nov. 2, along with The Spring Standards. Tickets are $10.00. Cory Chisel plays in the big room next door, Spaceland Ballroom, next Saturday Oct. 19 for $12. On Jan. 17, Saintseneca and LVL UP are at The Space for $10. Those shows are on sale now at manicproductions.org.

The Stray Birds are at Spaceland Ballroom on Nov. 20. $12 advance tickets to the show are on sale at theouterspace.net.

BAR has Widowspeak and Pure Bathing Culture playing their free Wednesday night show on Nov. 6.  Grandchildren perform there Dec. 4, and Starlight Girls play there on Dec. 18.

New Haven’s Cafe Nine has The Melodic, We Are The Birdcage, and Vikesh Kapoor on Dec. 6 for $10. Next Friday, Oct. 18, has a good night of local music with Elison Jackson’s record release show. M.T. Bearington, Milksop: Unsung, and Hanging Hills also perform. Tickets are $6.

Lisa Marie Presley is at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday along with The Alternate Routes. Wallflowers perform there on Sunday.

Saturday night has Ra Ra Riot at the Center Church on the Green in New Haven. on the other side of I-91, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy performs at the Calvin Theater in Northampton.

Bret Michaels plays the Webster Theater next Wednesday, Oct. 16.
