Upcoming Concerts: Smashing Pumpkins, Lyle Lovett, Kaki King
The last time Smashing Pumpkins were at Mohegan Sun it was for the band’s 20th anniversary tour. Four years later and one original member lighter, the band is returning in support of “Oceania,” their second album since Billy Corgan kickstarted the band in 2007.
Tickets for the Nov. 4 concert go on sale Friday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. The cost is $25.
Lyle Lovett is returning to the area sooner rather than later, this time in Northampton. He comes to the Calvin Theater Saturday, Nov. 3. Tickets are on sale Saturday Aug. 31 through iheg.com for $49.50 and $59.50.
Though growing into layered multi-instrumental soundscapes, songstress Kaki King will return to her roots as the solution to all acoustic “chick rock” artists in a performance at the Iron Horse in Northampton on Nov. 8. Tickets are $15 in advance through iheg.com, or $18 at the door.
Electronica fans can rejoice at the announcement of two area Conspirator shows. The band comes to Pearl Street in Northampton on Oct. 19 and Toad’s Place Oct. 21. Tickets to both go on sale Friday, costing $15 through iheg.com and $17 through toadsplace.com. Both are $20 at the door.
Australian Pink Floyd have added another area date, this one at the Calvin on Nov. 8. Tickets are on sale Saturday for $25 – $45 through iheg.com.
A last minute addition was announced to the P.O.D. concert on Aug. 30 at the Great Hall at Union Station. Jasta, the solo project of Hatebreed frontman and Connecticut native Jamey Jasta, opens along with Fear The State, Lansdowne, and Dead By Wednesday. Tickets are $15.
Big fans of their Connecticut audience, River City Extension have been added to an already solid lineup of Langhorne Slim & The Law with Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard at The Space on Oct. 23. Tickets are $12 through manicproductions.org, or $15 at the door.
Grammy Award winner Steve Earle is slated to play Infinity Hall in Norfolk on Nov. 28. Tickets are on sale Aug. 30 for $65 and $85 through infinityhall.com.

Harbingers of doom metal SUNN O))) play with Dead In The Dirt at Club INT in New Britain on Labor Day. Tickets are still available.
Evanescence and Chevelle play the Mohegan Sun Arena on the “Carnival of Madness” tour Thursday, Aug. 30. The American Idol tour takes the same stage Sunday night.
