Upcoming Concerts: Steely Dan, Autumn Defense, Tamar Braxton

Steely Dan, the decades-old brainchild of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker with millions of album sales under its belt, will head to the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Dubbed the “Jamalot Ever After” Tour, the Dan’s road trip kicks off on July 2 in Portland, Ore. and continues through mid-September. (The Oakdale show is the second-to-last on the tour.) In addition to Fagen and Becker, the musicians in the touring band, including exceptional guitarist Jon Herington, are all Steely Dan vets. Celtic Thunder ($30-$50), on their first-ever U.S. Symphony Tour, will appear at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. in the Grand Theater. R&B star Tamar Braxton ($47.50) heads to Foxwoods’ Grand Theater on Friday, May 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets to both shows are on sale now through foxwoods.com or by calling 800-200-2882.

Wilco’s John Stirratt and Pat Sansone, who tour as the Autumn Defense, will appear at Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall on Friday, June 6 at 6 p.m. Tickets ($20) are on sale now through edmondtownhall.org. Amanda Bloom and her band will open the show.

Rocker Willie Nile ($25-$35) returns to Infinity Hall in Norfolk on Sunday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. Blues guitarist Kal David and the Real Deal ($34-$49), featuring Miss Lauri Bono, head to Norfolk on Saturday, July 26 at 8 p.m. Legendary piano man Leon Russell ($50-$70) hits Infinity Hall on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m., followed by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band ($55-$75) on Friday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. All four shows go on sale this Thursday, April 17 through infinityhall.com.

Brick + Mortar ($10) heads to the Outer Space in Hamden on Friday, May 16 at 8:30 p.m. Gringo Star plays a free show at BAR in New Haven on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:30 p.m. Visit manicproductions.org for tickets and more information.

Waterbury’s Shock ‘N’ Awe Gallery hosts its Spring Fling on Sunday, April 27 from 1-6 p.m. in the parking lot at 1069 Huntingdon Ave. Bands include headliners the String Band, Off the Dome, Blessed and Gifted and Shake Bite. Local blues rockers the Balkun Brothers and Maddhatta Productions team up for Spring Fonk Fest, which will be held at the POC Club in Glastonbury on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 4 p.m. and lasting into, well, sunrise (camping is available). Entertainers include Gang of Thieves, DJ Maddhatta, the Isaac Young Quartet, Uncle Sonny, the Balkuns and David Sadloski. Visuals will be provided by a Case of Space. Tickets are $15-$20.
