The Space in Hamden is playing host to a day of indie rock bands topped off by Connecticut’s own The Guru.

Included on the bill are Giraffes? Giraffes!, DRGN KING, Oshwa, Chris Cappello, High Pop, and many more. The fest goes down on Aug. 16, with $15 tickets on sale Friday at noon through manicproductions.org.

Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears are bringing a slamming blend of fuzzy garage rock and bluesy funk to the Spaceland Ballroom on Sept. 25. Tickets are $14 in advance, and on sale Friday at noon through manicproductions.org.

San Francisco bay area shoegazers Whirr and Nothing are playing the new Lipgloss Crisis art space at 756 Chapel Street in New Haven. Tickets are $8, and also on sale Friday at noon via manicproductions.

Avenged Sevenfold coming to the MGM Grand Theater on Aug. 9. Tickets are $30 and $55, and on sale now at foxwoods.com.

Stop. Hammer Time.

You still can’t touch MC Hammer when he plays the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun for free on Aug. 31.

Infinity Hall is bringing Simon Collins (progeny to Phil) and his band Sound of Contact to town on Sept. 11. Tickets are $30 and $45.

The Fixx are at Infinity Aug. 7, with tickets at $39 and $59. The Delta Saints play on Sept. 5 for $25 and $35. Will Evans Band and Jeff Howard perform on Oct. 13, with tickets at $29 and $44. All the Infinity Hall shows go on sale Thursday at infinityhall.com.

Adam Zwig is at Cafe Nine in New Haven on Sept. 4. Tickets are $10 and on sale Friday at noon from manicproductions.org.

The PitchBlak Brass Band is at the Iron Horse on Sept. 6 to crank out some funk. Spose is there on Aug. 17, and Angel Olsen plays on Oct. 1 along with Pillars and Tongues. Those shows are $10 in advance at iheg.com, or $13 at the door.

John Mayall is playing StageOne in Fairfield on Oct. 6. Tickets are $95, and on sale now.  Glen Davis Andrews performs Aug. 14 for $25. Tickets to either are available now at fairfieldtheatre.org.

Mohegan Sun has Megadeth’s Gigantour at the arena, with Black Label Society, Newsted, and more. Across the way at the Wolf Den, Matt Nathanson performs.

Friday night also has Boz Scaggs at the Warner Theatre in Torrington.

Hartford’s Forward Motion are at Infinity Hall Friday, and Providence’s Deer Tick play Sunday.

Lyle Lovett is at the Ridgefield Playhouse Monday, and Black Keys and Joy Formidable will rock the Comcast Theatre Tuesday night.
