Sublime with Rome – Sublime bass player Eric Wilson’s revamped project with vocalist Rome Ramirez — heads to the Dome at Oakdale in Wallingford on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The band played its first big gig in 2009 at Cypress Hill’s annual Smokeout Festival and has since toured extensively. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 2014 North American Tour kicks off in San Diego, Calif. on Aug. 3 and includes a stop at Hartford’s XL Center on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The band will also release “Hypnotic Eye,” its first studio album in four years, on July 29. This summer Petty and Co. will appear as headliners at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival and at the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, Virginia. They’ll be at Fenway Park in Boston on Labor Day Weekend. Steve Winwood joins them on tour as the opening act.

The diva who wouldn’t say goodbye: Cher’s Dressed to Kill Tour returns to Connecticut on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the XL Center in Hartford, with supporting act Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. Tickets ($29.50-$129.50) are on sale now at xlcenter.com.

Thin Lizzy-loving punk quartet Joyce Manor ($12-$14) performs at the Heirlooms Arts Theatre in Danbury on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m., with the Exquisites and the Weaks supporting. Texas indie-rockers Midlake ($15-$18) return to Conn. for a show at the Ballroom at the Outer Space in Hamden on Friday, July 25 at 9 p.m., followed by experimental rock trio il sogno del marinaio ($12-$15), featuring Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist Mike Watt, on Monday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. Brooklyn, N.Y. quartet DIIV ($15) plays the Space in Hamden on Sunday, July 13 at 8 p.m., with LODRO and Regal Degal. Guided By Voices ($25) heads to Toad’s Place in New Haven on Thursday, July 10 at 9 p.m.. White Mystery, Mr. Elevator and the Brain Hotel and Medication ($8-$10) perform at Cafe Nine in New Haven on Tuesday, June 17 at 8:30 p.m. Mineral ($22) performs at the Center Church on the Green in New Haven on Monday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m., with Into It. Over It. opening. Miniature Tigers ($12-$14) plays the Space in Hamden on Wednesday, July 16 at 8 p.m., with the Griswolds, followed by Dan Deacon ($15) on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. Cheers Elephant plays a free show at BAR in New Haven on Wednesday, July 23 at 9:30 p.m. Head to manicproductions.org for tickets and more information.
