Sis. Mary Healy’s brother was a victim in a mass murder in 2000 in Wilkinsburg, Penn. She listened to the state House of Representatives’ discussion about capital punishment. The House voted 86-62 to repeal the death penalty, and the bill now goes to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who has promised to sign it.

The bill was passed 20-16 by the Senate in the wee hours of last Thursday. Earlier today, supporters of the bill (who want to repeal Connecticut’s capital punishment) had a press conference in the Legislative Office Building.
