Apple TV users can now access HBO Go and WatchESPN streaming video services.

According to Apple’s website, both services are now available on the platform after installing an update.

In the press release, Apple states that the HBO Go and WatchESPN have been amongst the most popular iOS apps. The new services join Netflix, YouTube, the iTunes Store and other streaming video services on Apple’s set top box.

HBO Go, which gives users with a cable subscription to the services access to popular original HBO programming such as Game of Thrones and The Wire, as well as movies, has been available on other platforms such as Xbox 360 and iPad, and has been long-awaited on the platform.

Although the Apple TV has offered other streaming video services such as Netflix and the iTunes store, HBO Go has been a noticeable absence because of its popular, exclusive content such as Game of Thrones.

In addition, WatchESPN is a service that streams ESPN broadcasts such as SportsCenter and Monday Night Football. Users have access to curated on-demand content like highlights.

The services are available today and can be accessed after installing an update, however only the second and third generation Apple TVs are supported.
