CL&P Recognizes Young Inventors With Energy Award

Six youths received the Connecticut Light & Power Energy Award at the 29th annual Connecticut Innovation Convention which was held at Gampel Pavilion late last month.
The recipients were: Thomas Nurse, a seventh grader at Brooklyn Middle School; Jeremy Page, a sixth grader at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield; Isabella Benson-Clarke, a fourth grader at Marlborough Elementary School; Serena Robidoux, a third grader at Somers Elementary School; Alex Semenza, a second grader at Annie V. Vinton Elementary School in Mansfield; and Owen Zimnoch, a first grader at Lebanon Elementary School.
To be considered for the award, the inventions either had to generate electricity, conserve electricity, or use green technology as a source of energy.
More than 700 K-8 students showcased their inventions at the convention.
