Facebook Buys Face.com
If you are like me, you’ve typed Face into your browser with the intent to go to Facebook and have been directed instead to Face.com. Maybe Mark Zuckerberg got tired of that happening to him and decided to just buy the company.
In a deal reported to be worth $80 to 100 million, Facebook is buying the face recognition company. Sources said the price was in the low end of the range.
Facebook will likely use the technology to improve its photo tagging. Face.com has 11 employees, and is based in Israel.
