Galaxy Users Can Get Jay-Z’s New Album Free

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Jay-Z will be giving away his forthcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail for free to one million Android mobile phone users using Samsung’s Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note II smartphones.

The album, which is due out on July 7th will be released early on July 4th at 12:01 a.m. exclusively to participating Galaxy users.


To get the album, users will need to download a free app from the Google Play Store, which will be available for on June 24th. The app will also reportedly have behind the scenes content, such as videos, which will give fans more details on the making of the album.

The Wall Street Journal also reports that Jay-Z received $5 per album, for a total of $5 million dollars, although it is not known if the downloads will count towards Nielsen’s SoundScan.
