Washington Post: Yale & Quinnipiac’s Social Media Presence Among Best In Country
StudentAdvisor.com, a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company, ranked Yale 15th and Quinnipiac 49th on its Spring 2012 Top 100 Social Media Colleges list.
The ranking compares more than 6,000 federally recognized colleges in the United States in terms of their mastery of public social media methods, tools and sites. The rankings were computed by collecting information on how active and effective each school is at engaging their audiences on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media tools, such as podcasts. The ranking also takes into account each school’s population, as well as other metrics, to gauge overall reach and effectiveness.
Yale was recognized for having sent 30 members of their staff to a three-day “social media boot camp.” While Quinnipiac was awarded for their social media directory and for offering a degree in Interactive Media.
Connecticut College in New London also made the list at #98.
