Spotify vs Pandora, Round 2
In this corner…Pandora, the established name in streaming music. And the challenger, Spotify, now with a new service that also streams music playlists.
It’s been just about a year since Spotify made it’s way to the US, and now they are shaking things up with a new streaming service on a mobile app that allows you to create music channels to your liking, much like Pandora has done for years.
Theverge.com reports on the new iOS app that builds playlists based on what other people with similar tastes are playing. Pandora uses a unique algorithm to build playlists on its own. The service is free with advertising (like Pandora) and you can upgrade to a commercial free version with a subscription. Right now, it’s only on iOS devices, but the plan is to roll it out to all platforms.
