New England’s first Microsoft Store is set to open at the Danbury Fair Mall Saturday morning.

The store will offer an array of products and provide customers with complimentary training sessions for newly-purchased devices.

The ribbon cutting ceremony, which will be held at 9:30 a.m., will include a $1 million software donation to the local chapter of Junior Achievement.  The charity is a non-profit dedicated to educating students on the topics of entrepreneurship, job readiness and financial literacy.

Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and the store promises gift bag giveaways and deals on PCs, mobile phones, XBox 360 titles and more.

According to the store’s Facebook page, the first 1,000 or so people who visit the store Saturday will receive two “premiere viewing wristbands” to a concert near the store featuring Young The Giant and O.A.R. at 6 p.m.

Microsoft Stores will also soon open in Boston, New York (two locations) and New Jersey (two locations).

An Apple Store has resided in Danbury Fair since 2004.
