The world’s slimmest smartphone was unveiled today, and not by the usual suspects.

Business Insider reports that Huawei, a Chinese phone manufacturer has created the world’s thinnest smartphone. The Ascend P6, which is a thin 6.18mm, weighs just 120g.

The phone has a five mega pixel camera front facing camera, and a slew of features that aim to compete with Smartphone juggernauts, Apple and Samsung.

The Chinese manufacturer unveiled the product in North London today, June 18th, to coincide with the new phone’s thin measurements.

The phone will reportedly be running a modified version of Android.

Huawei is new to the consumer smart phone market; however it was the fourth largest Smartphone manufacturer as of the first quarter of 2013.

In another article, TheVerge reports that the new phone does not have support for LTE networks.
