Twitter Top Trends Survey By CNBC

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

If you were wondering why #BurtWonderstone was a Twitter top trend last month, it’s because it’s distributor Warner Brothers paid for the top placement. That’s nothing new, Twitter has been selling it for three years now.

According to a CNBC survey of the promoted trends for the month of March, other products included Levi’s Jeans, “The Call,” Subway, and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”  (“The Call” starring Halle Barry, hung up on “Burt Wonderstone” at the box office, beating it by $7 million. Both were beat by “Oz.”)

About half the promotions were for TV shows or movies, the others were for consumer products.
