OK, this one has perplexed me for more than a week.  A national poll by AshleyMadsion.com showed married women would prefer to have an affair with Giants quarterback Eli Manning than with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

According to the poll, 54 percent of the married women said that they’d rather have a dalliance with Manning because of his “boy next door” good looks. Also, they thought Manning would be easier to relate to and be less of a hothead than Brady, who had 46 percent of the vote and has a famous wife Gisele Bundchen.

No knock on Eli, but this poll shook me worse than a Jason Pierre-Paul sack. Couldn’t believe it.

I sought the help of an expert: my wife Liz. Originally she picked Eli and then changed.

“OK, if you HAVE to know why I chose Eli originally, it is because I don’t like to be predictable and I figured you would assume I would pick Tom,” Liz said. “I also like the underdog. Often times they are a lot more interesting than the front-runner.  While I don’t think Eli is a bad looking guy, Tom blows him away in the looks department.  I changed over to Tom based on looks alone.

“Personalities are a big factor in what attracts a woman to a man [I feel confident to speak for all women, LOL], so the outcome could be different if I knew these guys better. I think a less confident woman might go with Eli because he seems more approachable, blah, blah, blah….”

Bless her waffling heart, my wife did some reporting work with a few of her friends, relatives and even my cardiologist.

“Tom Brady hands down!” said Christine McGannon of Brooklyn, Conn.

She said in her opinion the Manning brothers are unattractive.

“Brady isn’t my type, but I know that he is classically handsome and embodies everything that both men and women find attractive in a man,” Christine said.

Kendra Kondash of Waterbury said neither.  She went with Johnny Depp, saying she doesn’t go for classic good looks.

Now, my wife’s cousin Kerry Hom, from Queens, N.Y., is from a staunch Giants family. She said Eli was not particularly good looking, but was extremely reluctant to go with Brady because of her NY/Giants alliance.

“[Brady] lives in Boston and I am not going there,” Kerry said.

No surprise, the poll votes were skewed by hometown bias. About 86 percent of New York women picked Eli, while 97 percent of Boston females chose Brady.

And my cardiologist?

“Tom Brady,” said Dr. Lisa Canter, who you’ve got to believe is an expert in matters of the heart.

Dr. Canter said she could not handle being with Eli because the whole family is very annoying … Peyton, Archie, etc. Dr. Canter, a Boston sports fan, said she wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the Mannings.

Of course, none of them would really entertain cheating on their husbands.

    This is disgusting.

Hmmm. Well. This is strange. I’m in college so don’t know if I’m old enough to apply to this “research”, but me and most of my friends are hot for Eli and not at all for Brady. Brady just strikes us as being very vain and a bit of a fake. Yeah, he’s great looking, he’s got all the “right” stuff (clothes, hair, wife, zip code), blah blah; but it seems like he’s trying to be those things whereas Eli just is. Eli seems more real. Like he’d be a great husband and friend that wouldnt compete with us for the mirror. Plus, Eli is really handsome in a much more rugged way. Scruffy hot. And, frankly, we never watched football until Eli. We love Eli…in uniform ;)

The way the media paints Eli is also BS. In all those “Who’s hotter” polls, they always post a “hot” pic of Brady and a “dorky” hot pic of Eli. It’s all BS in our opinion. Which is why we’re Eli tumblrs:
