A Fan Needs A Hand: Where To Watch UConn Football Games On TV In Boston Area
What’s goin on?
Much appreciated if anyone can help Ryan out…
Hey Dez,
Thanks for all the great work you do, love the blog, mailbag, and chats! I was wondering if you might be able to help out with this question, or maybe bounce it off the readers to see if anyone is in a similar situation. I live just outside of Boston and aside from the ESPN nationally televised games later in the year, have had trouble the last couple of seasons getting games up here. SNY is only available through Direct TV on their Premier package. When games are available on ESPN3, i will try and catch them there only to find out they are blacked out in my area. Last season i ordered ESPN Game Plan through my cable provider and ran into the same problem – most of the games were blacked out. This year I will probably try and find out what sports bars have the Premier Direct TV plan (most probably have Direct TV for the NFL package) and catch the games there. I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem in the Boston area and if so, have they found anything that has worked well?
Any help you or anyone else in Husky Nation can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Ryan

comcast has it on ch 128 i think…
i just looked at fios and it seemed to be listed in hd on their extreme package.
lets all call comcast and tell them to put it on hd…
A quick look online shows that the Cask N Flagon (right next to Fenway) is the local alumni bar. If they have the college package you should be able to catch games there. I know in NYC we all meet at Van Diemans.
I live in Waltham and get SNY on Verizon Fios ch 96.
Hey Ryan… the Boston Chapter of the UConn Alumni Association frequently organizes game watches for UConn alums in the Boston area. Check out http://www.uconnalumni.com or email Boston@uconnalumni.com to find out more.
Why not just drive down to East Hartford ?
you can find them online also. check front-row-sports-.-com
(get rid of the slashes). they usually will have a link to watch the game online. check the boneyard for info each week also, i’m sure that will help. go huskies
after the big east re-ups its contract, you can most likely see them on WB or MyTV9
ATT Uverse also carries it and I believe in HD.
Ryan,
SNY is available on Comcast XFinity as well. Not sure the channel but same thing David mentioned just no HD. It’s on there though.
Thanks for the help guys, SNY isnt listed on Comcast’s channel line-up (maybe because its a local/regional channel) but I will give them a call. I would have switched to FIOS but for some reason their cable is not available for my location. Thanks again!
Hey Ryan,
We are in Natick. I know SNY is on Verizon FIOS Ch. 96; but no HD. No Big East Network access at all on Verizon
